5/14/05 ADOT plans a June 18th celebration for the
new Power Road to Higley Road segment of the Red Mountain Freeway. The segment is scheduled to open the week of June 20th.
5/12/05 The opening of the Red Mountain Freeway segment from Higley Road to Power Road has been delayed from May, 2005 to the summer. The weather has caused delays in other AZDOT projects as well.
5/12/05 The new Mesa Arts Center is open. It is a 212,775 square-foot performing arts, visual arts, and arts education facility, the largest and most comprehensive arts center in the state of Arizona.

The Higley Road interchange of the Red Mountain Freeway opened to traffic on Sunday 1/12/02. Although the freeway is complete and Val Vista open as well, landscaping plans are on hold due to funding
issues. The landscaping is funded but maintenance of it is not in the state budget. Concerned parties should contact Mesa officials who may be able to push things forward with the state.
1/11/03 Freeway update The Higley Road interchange is scheduled to open January 13th, bring the Red Mountain Freeway to within one mile of Red Mountain Ranch. Join the Rockin' on the Red Mountain II celebration on January 11th.from 9AM-12PM (Festivities will be on the eastbound section of the freeway west of Higley. Parking will be available on the westbound direction accessible from the new Higley interchange

Red Mountain Freeway is creeping forward. The Greenfield Road interchange is expected to open in October, 2002 Val Vista, to the west and Higley Road, to the east are expected to open in December 2002 or January 2003. See

Traffic lights at Raftriver and Thomas
are up and ready to be put in service at the commencement of the new school year. The city of Mesa has provided local residents with many concepts for other changes to address the coming of the Red Mountain Freeway.

New drive-through Starbucks and Tropical Smoothy Cafe
One of the first drive-through Starbucks will soon open in the Basha's Ridgview Plaza. Next door will be the Tropical Smoothy Cafe serving sandwiches as well as smoothies. A representative of the property owners says we may see a Japanese restaurant and a Washinton Federal Bank in the
adjacent space.

started its Grand Opening today. It is located 2 miles from the SE corner of Red Mountain Ranch.

Changes in hours of the Players Grill, Bar and Fitness Center.
Home Depot plans to open a new store in July at the northwest corner of Power and Mckellips, only a couple of miles from Red Mountain Ranch and across from the newly opened Target Stores. Other stores planned include PetSmart, Michael's Craft store, and Chili's. These and other stores are gradually bringing more convenient shopping access to Red Mountain Ranch residents.

3/02 Red Mountain Country Club sold. Scottsdale Golf Group ("SGG") acquired Red Mountain Ranch Country Club. Locally, SGG owns Painted Mountain Golf Course and John Jacob's School of Golf. SGG also owns Hillcrest Golf Club - (Sun City West AZ),Lake Powell National Golf Club( Page AZ), River Crossing Golf Club (Spring Branch TX).SGG also appears to own Founders Club, a golf club company headquartered in Scottsdale.

1/14/02 Red Mountain Ranch is now a bit closer to many Phoenix areas with the
opening of a new four mile stretch of the Red Mountain Freeway ( Loop 202 ). The freeway now continues from Country Club Drive to Gilbert Road in Mesa, about eight miles from Red Mountain Ranch. An acclerated development schedule shows the Gilbert Road to Higley Road segment opening in the fall, ahead of ealier plans.This will put the freeway within a mile or two of homes in Red Mountain Ranch.

Country Club . J.D. was most recently GM of
Hilton's Pointe South Mountain. He also coordinated golf course operations at both Phantom Horse and Lookout Mountain at Tapatio Cliffs. Departing GM Dave Sokolowski, remaining with American Golf, is
expected to be relocated to the west coast remaining involved with regional food and beverage support in the meantime.
Red Mountain Ranch Country Club golf course will be closed for over-seeding October 7-28th. Check out links to overseeding schdules of other courses.
